I know that you watch me While my majestic wings roar in the faraway skies Like a spacious curtain they blackout the sun And hide the friends and foes in their solemn fights Whether over earning livelihood or gratifying insatiate greed. No matter, both are equal to me. Let them be! But I still watch them all, from my nest Which whereabouts will always baffle The hunters who yearn for a moment When they become able to imprison me in their nets. Let them dream! I always prefer giving them the benefit of doubt. I even let them come closer But when the time comes, Nobody they should blame except themselves. I enjoy having their pride my prey. No wonder, I am the dweller of heavens And I let the earth for whoever live on pity fights. I have no time to share their inescapable plights. Every day, I chivalrously wake up in my awe-inspiring nest. I greet my serene solitude and precious loneliness That had ever been my protective shield. I am not a bird nor can any creature emulate me. I was born an EAGLE, A species that will always be The King of the skies and the Conqueror of untrodden lands. Every creature on the earth and the sky Watch me spreading my unmatched hegemony In each of my continuous and scarce flights. They perceive that I am always strong and brave and young. I never let them see me when I lose my powers And old age devours the vigour of my unyielding sinews And consumes the brawn of my wings. Sometimes, I even lose my eyesight Then, I convince myself that death will be bright. Do I grieve? Never! This is the cycle of life. There would always be another eagle Which my nest would welcome And teach how to show to all the other creatures That eagles are eternal And enjoy a life of permanent youth. I love such an expediency! It is a favourite strategic expediency Which is handed over to our line, since the dawn of life.
