When asked what scared me most of all After thinking, I said... LIFE!!! We spend most of our existence On the edge of a sharpened knife. It starts when we are very young, School, holds so much fear, Expectations, many exams, You must have all the gear. Adolescence is no fun Scared you won't fit in, Then when leaving school We are petrified, A career, we must begin. Then that fear of finding a partner, For love can terrify, Then that fear that you might lose it Is enough to make us cry. Then we have to pay the mortgage, Or rent, it's just the same, Then the amenity charges coming in, Can drive us all insane. Then there's food and clothing, The list just carries on, The weight of covering all these bills Holds a fear that's never gone. Then if children are involved at all Their welfare, safety too, We're petrified when they are out, Until they're back with you. So yes... it's life that scares me most of all, It's in all our lives each day, We manage fear the best we can, Because that's the only way.
