He chased after with slight desperation, But getting away was my motivation. He has always been faster, So soon I became the latter. A hand wrapped around a wrist, A light hold I couldn't resist. Imploring me to listen, they insist. The adornment of devoted words wouldn't desist. The words of love burned my heart so; A small crack in resolution with each syllable bestowed. For I knew fully well, What his heart had to compel. But for some difficult reason, My mind committed treason.
