When I was younger I used to wish I had a toy that would talk to me, an imaginary friend, to share its comfort every day. I wasn't always sad, but just to have a constant friend, to never leave. That's what I wanted.
Now I have lots of friends.
Cats, dogs, birds, dragons, dinosaurs.
We have many adventures together.
Each has a name, each has a personality.
I try to flesh out each and every one.
Vixi (cat) is my favorite.
She is strong, she protects the innocent.
Things I wish to be.
I've found she's kind of my opposite.
She's fierce, and she is very good at combat.
She wields a lightsaber, yeah, from Star Wars.
She's very brave and is always ready for adventure.
Her sidekick, his name is Puppy.
He is fearful and anxious, but is fiercely loyal and always goes with Vixi into battle.
I suppose Puppy is braver, since Vixi isn't scared, but Puppy is.
Yet he goes into battle anyway.
Playing with stuffed animals, imagining their lives, it fills me with instant joy.
It doesn't matter how old I am.
I want to be part of their lives.
So many weird characters, so many weird interactions.
Like a small town story but it's all just in my head.
Sometimes I randomly make two of them meet and fall in love.
Just to see what happens.
I want to be part of this little place I've created.
But I'm above it all, looking down.
I guess I could insert myself in, but usually that causes more problems than it solves.
Only God was able to do it without making problems.
So I watch from above, staring longingly at their lives.
Wishing for peace and tranquility, maybe an adventure every now and again.
Surely would be less boring than here.
Yet here is where I stay.
