I close my eyes for the nth time that day My stress melting away into oblivion REM clouds my vision like it's done several times before I wake up to find people laughing and smiling I join them I have no choice but to do as they do Lest I get evicted from my mind again By now I know the unwritten rules of this world 1. Don't look in mirrors 2. Don't say you're dreaming 3. Don't forget to write everything down I run along pastel pink clouds of cotton candy Sail along seas of orange Meet characters embedded in my memory from long ago Look how I want and act as I please Escape into a utopia of events that will never be An alarm goes off I get thrown into reality headfirst Wake up Eat Go to the bathroom Rinse and repeat.
