of the vindictive folly
of one’s contemporaries

than to complacently participate
in their insane violence
better still to escape the madhouse
one’s bliss , naîveté , self
intact
happy to be alive
knowing no finality
or initiality
even one’s present
controlled but unstoppable step
out of the madhouse
