Unrequited love, a pain so true, Hurts more than anything, old or new. Loving one who cannot love in return, A constant ache, a heart that yearns. What is love, if not this pain? A mighty sorrow that refuses to wane. To love in vain, a heart's despair, A longing that lingers, beyond repair. Trapped in this love, with no escape, My heart beats for you, in a futile ache. Though you've told me to move on, I stay, Bound by love, in a helpless way. I've tried to unlove, to break the chains, But my heart resists, and love remains. Sometimes I wish our paths had never crossed, But fate brought us together, and my heart is lost. In this sea of longing, I'm adrift, Tossed by waves of love, without a lift. Yet, despite the pain, I'll hold on tight, And love you still, through the dark of night.
