IT WAS NOT LOVE It was not love beneath night skies That something special in his eyes Embraced in arms wrapped tight around And muted all distracting sounds Paired off, alone, romance in guise They lay so soft, the subtle ties Like ivy crept on wanton thighs The tightening of tethers bound It was not Love Crossed laces tangled now in lies Desperate still, she always tries A mercy plea from so far down Beneath her pride, where all she found Vehemently, one still denies It was not love © 2017 All rights reserved
