We met in Paris During the war She was a maid For an elite Home I recall The timber Of her lyrical voice Rounded tones Like an Instrument Long straight Black hair Cut just to frame Her face I can recall it So clear She was younger And taller than me Thin With fluid movement And grace That beautiful smile That brightened Her face How was it That she noticed Me ? After she nodded Her head And agreed to a dance We shared a true Romance I tried so hard To be charming And quaint She knew I was Smittened And could not think Straight I knew What being Happy meant Together we Complimented Each other And we're better For it My I loved her soul I still don't know how I let her go
