I lay before you broken hearted
You take the words right out my mouth.
You dress the grey toned colored sky,
Express my love, my pain, my doubt.
You calm the throb of fading time,
As cascades frail the great sublime
My tongue grows limp and my mind fades,
But, my thoughts you elucidate.
I know I'll find you in the morning,
I know you'll seep into the night.
An aimless torpid reject mourning,
My loss and yellow painted sky.
I hear your voice in clear fresh waters
I feel you in open terrain,
A poet's cry might break the surface,
But poems always calm the rain.
