i walked past the café we used to meet, our names still carved on that corner seat. now it’s there with a new lover, just as our love is meant to be over. i entered the place alone today, where it used to be us two. i stare at those lovers now, that once was us too.. waiter comes to me, "drinks and two brownies", she says, "make that one, today", but it shocked me with her guess, while i wait for the plate, i write this piece of fate, the soft jazz sounds to my ear, bears the same nostalgic date, you know i always carry a pen, with my thoughts, i inked the napkin then, scribbled stain stays just the same i hoped you do too, when you hear my name, now the lovers are gone, seats awaits for new, the sound track is changed to blues i left the cafe paying up the dues.
