It was a beautiful day Although a bit cloudy Our boats skidded atop the river Our oars avoiding the green algae The wind blew through my hair The sun beat down my brow We told jokes at every break Our giggles filled the now In just the right weather We turned our shells across We paid no attention to what was behind The single's eyes darkened, the day is lost We smiles and laughed Oh no such thing We paddled much faster Here came the rain We docked real fast In record time And up! Our bow roared The storm was coming, on the clock's next chime We hurried to the house Just escaping the wet We watched the water stream down It's not over yet We ran back out Grabbing loose oars What a beautiful day Our muscles ached, we felt it in our cores
