You are missed by me Would that surprise you if you knew? Not just since we briefly reconnected But even before From time to time You’d pop up in my mind I’d wonder what could’ve been If we’d done things so slightly different Did you do the same? Would you sometimes entertain the question Of what I may look like now? I can tell you I have It has crept in the musing if you’re still funny Like you were then The same childish humor Or humor more grown and learned Still unhinged and raw Or practiced Maybe crushed with life’s woes My hope has been that you still laugh like you did Back when we knew each other When we were light-hearted friends You left a mark on me Maybe even my heart One I never expected way back when Now I miss you even more After we spoke again Possibly for the last time I wish our lives hadn’t drifted so far apart Because now I have to miss you forever Ponder the past And hope you’re doing well Wherever the both of us are

Our Past To Ponder
