From being a naive kid To being an independent adult, And at last becoming just a memory. Time will always be a frightening concept, But one that piques my interest Endlessly. The insatiable desire to move forward, But to look back at the mistakes One has once made. There’s no rush, Time is up. Seize the day, But think twice, Choosing pace for your life, Choosing beat to your heart, Is a quest we lose ourselves in Sometimes. Run forward, Look backward , Stumble and fall. Fall into the depths, Sink into past grief. Hit the rock bottom And sleep. Mourning can’t be A remedy for the sadness. It garners fury within, And will always end with misfortune. Winds will rage, Fires will burn, Waters will rise, Leaves will fall in the fall, But when dust settles, The sky clears, The cycle will do its own, And all will be forgiven, forgotten, reborn. There’s a new day, Another shot to take, another go. Run forward, Look forward, Tread lightly on sands of time, Still stumble, still struggle, But with sight set on future, Strength to persist you will find, And thrive. Not a grain escapes the hourglass, Every stone will be changed by the water, But my will to live and the memories I leave behind, will stand the test of time.
