Beyond the amber rings' embrace, There blooms a flower no storm can chase, A peony with elegance and grace, Her petals outshine even the darkest days. It is not by choice that we are apart, But by strings of fate that do not align, Is it her voice that has my heart, Or is it her presence that is so divine? I choose to linger at the edge of Saturn's ring, My heart falters at the thought of the inevitable, Why can she not let my heart sing, When her mark on me is indelible? When Saturn claims her gentle light, And pulls her slowly out of view, Where will I go and what will I do, When even silence speaks of you? For some loves are not meant to stay, But to pass like comets through the night, Not ours to keep or cage in hand, Only to witness in their flight. At last I end up a stargazer, For a peony by the name Roxanne, Whose bloom still colors all my skies, Though I may never see her again.

The Girl From Saturn
