You are taught that kindness is what makes you, And I cannot disagree, But this is not how society is structured, Although it claims to be. You are taught that money is not what limits you, Only your intellect, But I've seen children on the streets in my home country, Never to learn how to write. You are taught that your looks do not define you, That inner beauty is the true command, But I have lived, and I have seen, And I can tell you firsthand. You are taught that the faceless man in the suit wants to help you, But he will never care, Not unless, You slip money into his hand. You are taught that we are divided by factors, That black, white, purple will never be the same, That languages are barriers, And look at the answers this gave. The hand that waves at its people, Is the same hand that drops the bomb, The puppeteering mastermind, Intellectual freedom is gone.
