As though seeking To replace the war And he was immensely devoted There, his barren, regretted valley Slender now and sickly He could be seen finally Pacing the outlines of his loss All the men missing After months these tasks were over His shock aggravated Grew to a fever at times A malady and instructor His place during the battle Surely not belonging His stride had bothered Having known many retreats What creates such a creature How does one persist as others Earning days beneath the worthless This place he had torn apart Where no beliefs are victorious Only for his dwelling Only in his refusal to escape Did this madness find a master
