First step, our eyes clash— Like startled sparrows taking flight. Autumn leaves flutter down, Carrying my heart into the twilight. Three words linger on my tongue (Soft as petals, heavy as stone), But my pulse steals them away When your gaze slips past my own. Reality blurs— A papercut silence. Hurt blooms quiet and deep, As our paths refuse to align— Parallel, endless, Yet never meant to meet.
