For the love of the oppressed including me,
the hijab on Maryam Asi
is dripping red in solidarity
Maryam Asi and I in hijab
to liberate Mecca/Makkah
faster than a Saudi cab
Maryam Asi and I in hijab
fighting against
the colonialist and the Zionist criminals' land grab
Maryam Asi and I in hijab
working hard to free our world from injustice
and INSHA ALLAH, doing it openly
while modestly fab

Salaam :) Maryam, we appreciate all you have done and continue to do for us, the oppressed people of the world :) Thanks so very much for your SWOP (Solidarity With Oppressed Peoples)!!
*I thought of "modestly fab" when writing this poem without knowing that such a term exists. After googling modestly fab to find out if it is grammatically correct to say it this way, I learned how modestly fab is defined and that it matches how I defined it in my mind. Additionally, I learned on Tuesday (1/20/26) evening that this year's World Hijab Day theme is #UnityInHijab. How fitting that my poem Maryam Asi and I in Hijab corresponds with it! Al hamdulilah :)
Ladies, get your party hijab out and gentlemen, get your supportive actions out...WORLD HIJAB DAY is here to be celebrated (FEBRUARY 1st)!!
Happy World Hijab Day tomorrow!! from someone who believes strongly in hijab's purpose and its' benefits to males, to females, and to society at large.

In a world (particularly the Western part of it) where immodesty rules, World Hijab Day took the lead, in its own modest way, on February 1st!
