I think that the words that scare me the most
Are “I will never leave you,”
Because in reality, they will ghost.
And yet they all still said it, it’s so strange,
Maybe I’m the real reason?
And if so, what is it I need to change?
I’m sorry I’m annoying and clingy,
It’s because I really care…
Is… Is there no one else like that… like me?
Is there anyone who, when they say it,
Will actually not leave?
When it gets rough, hold the course and stay it?
I read about it all the time these days,
That love that will never fade…
But when I try, it goes up in a blaze.
I’m like a character from some dumb book,
They say life’s not a story,
But it is for me, won’t someone please look
At me, the way they read Romance-Fiction?
I’ve been right here all along!
Can we please stop all the contradiction?
If you want someone loyal, soft, and kind-
With a darker, deeper, protective side-
Goofy and smart, with a passionate mind-
I’m right ******* here! Waiting for someone to see;
I can be what you need, if you dare to love me…

People say they want someone deep, passionate, and respectful. Someone flirty, cute, and romantic. Someone who isn't perfect but tries to be, someone who would always be there and never leave. But they lie. They romanticize these fictional characters, but upon meeting one, they hesitate. Why say you want something if you only like the idea of it, not the thing itself? Why would you say you loved someone, only to walk away? Why say you'll never leave, pull me in, just to let me go? WHY?
