when i was just a baby lying in my cot
one thing i remembered and i have not forgot
that was mamas lullaby that she sang to me
she sang it very softly. as gently as can be
her voice it was so lovely gentle and sincere
i could hear her singing softly in my ear
then she would rock my cradle rock it too and fro
till my eyes were closing then off to sleep i go
