I saw her in the dark rain filled night
Cold wet and shivering
I put my coat round her and lead her to the car
Once home I rubbed her dry with a soft warm towel
And put her in my bed
All night she clung to the warmth of my body
I awoke with the coming of the dawn and realised
That I had fallen in love
With a puppy
