" Will you still love me tomorrow? Eyes twined yet hollow, Bulging thoughts still narrow— Confess, and show me your devotion. Years of closeness, A motionless emotion. My heart was always yours, Your doors looping for hours. And as your soldier, I’d hold the line— but today is the last time. Hearts knotted in our lips, Words sandwiched between doubt. Speechless, spineless, Time running out. Say my name— Ooooooh~ Oh hear me now. See that guy? What’s on my palm? Your ring~ Don’t hiss — it’s his — unless you confess to me now. So say my name, Ooooooh~ Turn the tide, don’t bide, I don’t bite~ I’m right here—don’t hide. We were born side by side. My first words were I love you, Latched to your style— Romantic, yet internal, Still a child. Don’t lie. Don’t cast me aside. It’s crowded outside. Let me in— let me be your pride, your one and only bride. So please… say my name, Ooooooh~ You honored me in friendship, but I wanted to soar as your flagship. Don’t let it slip. Get a grip, zip it— let me bombard you with worship. Let me conquer the great wall of fears, buzzing close to heart and ear, so one day you shall declare that the ship has sailed— Ooooooh~ But when I leaned in for a kiss, you dissed. I teased, smiling witty wryly, satisfied with your blush. My heartbeat rushed, hushed— yours explored and snored. “Heh,” I said, “Fine… let’s see how long you can ignore.” Ooooooh~ Raised a chessboard, Sketch a champion, crowned pawns— the white queen without her king. You, a king whose queen was captured, tortured by your yawns. Can't sadle your silence— it stinks. Boohoohooo~ My tail is reserved, Must be preserved, but for the sake of you and me, I’ll wag it everywhere. Schemed an affair— I’m afraid. Look how they sullied my hair. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. So unfair—when will you be aware? Ooooooh~ Days pass— Fiddles her lonesome chair. The halls we slid through grow slimmer. No one to slither your shimmer. The glee in your eyes grows dimmer, missing my giggle, my jingle, Her name— Ooooooh~ Your sly heart sighs. Serves you right~ ehehhehe~ Still, I’m here for you. Don’t cry— just whail my name, Ooooooh~ Beneath our cherished cherry blossom, boys drooling at my pear and ***** sigh I’ve missed you. Chords too fertile, not feral. Where art thou, prince, when your princess is nearly kissed and minced by lips so chintz and quince? My body twitches, fibers wince. I dreamed of our wedding— yet your pudding is budding to a man she shouldn’t… Men so poised yell praise and prose. I missed your silence— your prudent tongue, your loose scent, reeking of shoes yet brimming with roses. Their shoulders stale as ***** yours meek and slick, frail as your excuses. Sideling your stringless muse— Just say you love me. I accept you already, Ooooooh~ Tomorrow crawls. My pulse throbs. Lies grow numb. I tremble without your strum. Fidgeting— confronted by her name. Aaahhhhhh! Your face— the testimony of my shame. Ooooooh~ So baby, don’t be lazy— run, run, run. Distance is just the sum. Run—sun scorching her thrum. Run—time choking my chum. Run—the moon smothering my girl in glum. No, no, no— another is about to vow. No, no, no— my blood ebbs to yours so slow. No, no, no— don’t show your love to a foe— Noooooooooo~ Oooooooooh~ All my life, I’ve been a stow. They displayed my emotion, furrowed and furlough. Yet you glued onto me even when I stooped so low. Still clutching your thumb, kneading your hair— soft as nestling hares. My home was fragrant with dust and plum, a scent etched from the girl I yearned to hum. Mind so dense— I wrote you poems about fences and friends while you waited for your lover, bedridden in suspense. I’m sorry. I do love you. But I cannot undo— Ooooooh~ I don’t deserve you. But let me nap in your lap, yapping and larping about love and snugs. When I was bruised and pussed, you were there— self-assured, overused. But where was I when you were starving? Stargazing, grazing, encasing— a fool. Ooooooh~ Will you forgive me? A dud so handsome, face cumbersome. Will you accept me? A stool so cool, charming and alarming. I’m six inches short, stupid— booted, muted— yet please shoot me, Cupid. Let me be hers. This is no rehearse. No time for the universe to reverse. Give me strength to embrace you— forevermore, Ooooooh~ Huff and puff— my knees so heavy. Here I stand, between now and tommorow. Throat dry, Coughing to deny— yet thirsty seeing your girl so flirty To a man whose lips so janky. Donned your bond, hoisting your vow— pledge with head in tow. Now let your name flow, blow out your woe— Oooooooh~ Hear ye, siren— as captain and tyrant, I toast you a shanty. Blues and dues, truth is: I wronged you more than you know… But still— will you be mine? I steered my eyes, braced for answers— weary, dreary, silence eerie— Until her voice— a jolt. “Oh, I know~” she pouts. “Yes, I know…” saw her- Still smug and cheeky. Can't force a smile, Her light too bright to bask in. I did not adore her right— yet still I chant her name, Ooooooh~ Finally, my man loses his knighted folly. I slid beside my pawn to tease my king. Jolly to see him jelly— looped the rook, watched him squabble. Dancing in spree and glee— Checkmate. Can you see? He growled, scoured, grasping doubt. Whimpered in sully— tears while my pawn cheers. Angsty. Forgive me. Be wary— and worry. Ooooooh~ Fun is done. Set the sun. Tossed the piece aside. End the drollery, start the tally. Poked my pally’s cheeks— Plumy, so red, Visage that I read, wet with sobs— a taste life jabbed. Once more I jiggled, bit his ears, giggled— breathed his name. Now say my name— Oooooooh~ Why did it take so long for us to sing along? A verse of wrongs where I once swung. Shush, ehe~ No sorry. Your excuses are heavy. Do me a favor— feed me a spoonful of your flavor, and kiss me already. Be steady, cuddle gently— tightly, nightly. I’m needy— and you’re silly, brimming with wit and dilly when I’m near you— Ooooooh~ Let’s ride the sunset. Ask me a question? What’s with the hesitation? Too much sensation? Ehe~ “Why is your skin so smooth?” “That’s it?” I grinned. “Fine.” hehehe~ Tugged his chin— “It’s lotion— formulated with nitric devotion. See the gloss—tactless as your flaws, ingrained, sewn to oath— a law mellow as your paws. Claws prim yet crude, just like I once was— Ooooooh~ “Then why me?” he asked. “Don’t you remember?” Me on the railing, swans sailing, dangling between river and falling— “Grab my hand,” he said, mournful, sweaty with dread. Ehe~ This is who I once was— Ooooooh~ I cherish your first words— “Hello… umm… you’re cute… pretty…” Back when life was petty, my house riddled with ridicule, doodles scribbled in brooding boodles. But you came— nibbled my chains, scolded them to shame. Since then, I’ve been your aide— a friend in pretend, a wife to recommend. My heart is yours— always— since the day you mended the end in me, Ooooooh~ Before I give my hand, treat me properly. I’m not your property. Neither of us a necessity— our hearts not accessories. Deal? Lean closer. I’ve missed you. Don’t sob, you goober— grin or smirk. Every curve a treasure. Now I’m with you, in now and never. I’ll savor yours, cherish mine— and share our names once more— Oooooooh~ " -Klausyuer: The ****** Poet
