Winter snow fell this morning,
It peppered the ground.
Yet, it was far too warm,
For any of it to stick around.
The sight was one to behold,
The flakes were large and cold.
I hope there's more white,
To counteract the grey skies.
Winter snow blankets the world in white,
Peaceful, perfect, almost somber, at night.
Though autumn's leaves are gone,
Winter's snow is a functional substitute.
Though when the Sun bids it begone,
The dead world is destitute.
Daylight seems to fade in winter,
Time itself splinters.
Winter's no place to watch flowers bloom,
But neither is it purely grey and doom.
As with autumn, it comes and goes,
Like the snowflakes that come in droves.
Before you know it, winter will be gone,
Springtime will be on the horizon.
Winter's snow may be temporary,
Please don't leave me with apathy.
