I walked past your old road today And admittedly to me now it’s just a road, But do you remember the tapestry unfold? Remember the asphalt bubbling in sun, You made me feel like I could move a tonne Someone shouts at the sky, incantation of a bird, no wings though Only half promises and no shows I met god at the station - he asked me why I was late, Because I’m me, not you, this whole thing is a mere charade I met the devil on the train, He asked my why I don’t feel any pain - Because I’m me, not you, Flawed yes, but maybe my intentions are true I met my match at home and indulged in the quick risk of a half smoked spliff, She asked me why I couldn’t care, Because I’m me, not you, I’m half baked and I’m pretty much guaranteed to miss I met myself on the way out, Asked him why he’s such a ******* melt, Because I’m you, you’re me, We should probably stop living, In a forlorn fantasy
