My minds burning a hole in my pocket I’m terrified to stray but curious to drop it Momentary healing That fleeting feeling But I don’t want to feel no more And now that flame eats what the numbness left behind Always burning, never hurting, it’s too late to unwind Searching for my soul, the last thing to forgo But still that flame burns too slow As we both realize, the soul you seek left this seat a long time ago I’ll cut the shoe to make it fit To stop from going down this endless pit Yet I’m still nothing but that rejected misfit So if I can’t take this world, I’ll take myself from it
