This too shall pass This too shall pass This too shall pass As I stand alone in traffic Waiting... Waiting for you. I think this too shall pass. Your indifference as you cross the street, without even a glance. Wounds my heart. As you speak on your phone, probably to someone important. Just on que, rain drops start falling As if the sky was saying, it's okay, let me cry for you. This too shall pass. Somehow the sun knew, I needed to be covered. I didn't need it's light putting a spotlight on my anguish. You stopped for a moment Looked over your shoulder. Then you continued with your conversation. I guessed it was very important. I wasn't aware that the wind was standing next to me. It whispered... This too shall pass. While it quickly blew the tear that had escaped. The earth started moving, It said, it's okay. You don't have to move. That's when I realized that my pain paralyzed me. One foot in front of another. The earth started moving my body home. When we finally got home. The earth said to me. This too shall pass. By Ethel M Maloka
