Some may describe it as a fondness for a person.
Willingness to do anything for them
Anything for their happiness.
Gifts, hugs, kisses, words of affection and affirmations.
This is what you call love.

Love is a synonym for pain.
It tears you apart.
Race for affection
Clawing at scars
Daring to burst your chest open.
No guarantee of reciprocation.
Breaking hearts.
Lack of oxygen.
Choking back tears.
Red eyes. No sleep.
Look what’s left of you.
Bits and pieces,
Left with lovers you once had.
Leaving you with nothing.
