Red is the color, Of blood flooding the street. Red is the color, Of the flesh that bullets meet. Red is the color, Of the sky as it wails. Its thunder much gentler, Than the metal men hail. Red was the color, Of that woman's eyes. Swollen from crying, Bursting as the blade flies. Red is the color, That dying man sees. Dying from bleeding, Yet seething at his enemies. Red is the color, Of that little boy's teeth. Was starving and grieving, Until he eats mother's meat. His hunger is nothing, There's famine to come. He licks his rotten teeth, As he cleans off mom's gums. Red. Dread. Where violence is bred. Blood was once sacred, Now taken and shed. Red. Dread. This war can't be fled. The horseman's still striking, And his warhorse runs Red.
