like the day, getting smaller as the seasons change like the flames, burnt out until the light gives way like the page, pencil strokes losing focus and smudged away like my soul, flickering until it finally starts to wane I want to love you, and you pull back commitment too heavy a burden to bear you want to hide or leave because you are bored I get it; I do. but I’m willing to push past myself to get to you

obsession fades
like the day, getting smaller as the seasons change like the flames, burnt out until the light gives way like the page, pencil strokes losing focus and smudged away like my soul, flickering until it finally starts to wane I want to love you, and you pull back commitment too heavy a burden to bear you want to hide or leave because you are bored I get it; I do. but I’m willing to push past myself to get to you
