I bet most of us don't understand what poverty is. But If you have ever seen A child step on broken glass, Wear rags to school, Then you know what poverty is. Schools slam doors on children Whose only crime Is not carrying silver coins. Children go to bed with broken ribs, While others discard feasts into bins. Do you know how heartbreaking this is? We shed pity, But pity cannot fill a plate. We need to make the world A place for everyone. Not all of us must dine on silver spoons — But at least,no child Should go to bed With a noisy stomach. And if we ever help, Let it not be for cameras or approval. For Kindness needs no attention.

Kindness needs no witness
This is for all the children who go to bed hungry; you deserve more from the world.
