Brain rot is such a fascinating word. 
So glad it was given a word of the year title this year. 
I like expanding upon the conception too with the kind of rot that ensues through too much transcendence.
3 kinds of Brain rot.
The initial conception in relation to obsession of niche interest 
The expansion of that in terms of low quality digital consumption.
And another kind based on the relation between Self Actualisation & Self Transcendence and how too much transcendence can rot or come at the expense of Actualisation even though in a certain sense it is higher (think maslows pyramid).

I think many people are not nearly as considerate and altruistic 
with their feedback as they could be. Quite often it is less about serving the collective and more in serving their impulse. It is a kind of vomit often. Vomit can be acidic. Acids can be poison. It's quite interesting in corollary, people say be open to criticism. I disagree. Be open to Feedback. Feedback is the gold. Criticism is the necessary filter on the path to feedback. Hate is the gunk that allows the Filter to stick solidly in place and the place we we need to have the possibility of free speech in the first place. Just because we need some gunk, does not mean we need to bury our gold & clog our filter. I think that is in large part what this site does so well. It is criticism in the direction of The Good. The Mutual betterment of everyone involved. Simply through design choice & a certain kind of cultivation & moderation. It is less a degenerative race to the bottom of the brain stem and a regenerative unfolding to the kingdom of god...
