The window was open just a bit As the cool breeze danced around the half opened curtains Faint noises from crickets broke the silence Of a peaceful night The moon now awake shines its silver light Causing shadows that seem to dance upon the walls Jasmine blooms filled the air with sweet dreams As memories played out like an old film passed Stillness hung heavy Sleeping through the quiet show not knowing How alive the room could be With all its nocturnal habits parading around Wind chimes dance erratically twirling on old twine that has seen better days just a rusty nail holds them from falling into the parched earth How many memories have they played their songs to unashamed at not always being appreciated but once in a while a little smile would reflect upon them With silent steps the moon moves slow lighting up yet another window So begins another show another memory untold just locked into the nighttime play maybe when sleep is reluctant to sway a soul this could be something to hold True to a heart
