People suffer in silence No matter how many words Can reach another’s ears No one can truly understand How can I explain Not being able to breathe a single breath When air is surrounding me completely My lungs have all but shriveled up, Leaving me heaving, coughing and desperate How can one person explain to another Losing the atmosphere that protects them When the earth is still intact How can one person explain to another Drowning in immensely deep waters When they’re standing on high ground And I choke on my own tears
