Jagged picture the violent end to a young man's life
Time frozen at the end of a lethal fight
Torn is the uniform passage of the shrapnel's flight
Blue tinge the lips pass the soldier's one last sigh
Clear is the pupil as the soldier dies
Perfect the teardrop falls from his lifeless eye
Cold is the violence of bone shattered bullet flight
Flags and rubble slaughter-house midst of life
Savage madness this bullet perfection as somebody dies
