‘Amazing Grace, o how sweet the sound!’ Sound? Sweet sound?! All I know is screams and smoke! In the top of this Tower, fear beats down And the smoke of hate causes us to choke. ‘That did save such a horrid wretch like me.’ Those words of a wretch breathed out by me. Now, I look at these words my family gave me, And sing with Hope, setting my lungs free. ‘I once was lost, but now? I am found!’ I am lost in this maze of choking smoke, The words help me lean on The Word that was bound; For me, for this moment, when I awake. The world turns black, yet woe is not for me. I was blind, but in His Grace, I see!
