Something is wrong with humans--deeply and terribly wrong, and we are privy to it. We see our evil and stumble on-- into it.

Animals have done nothing wrong and are not even aware it. They are marvelously innocent, yet they suffer for what we have done.  Many remain faithful to us to their deaths.  

They are not aware of evil-- only the difference between the ones who care for them and those who are cruel.  They understand kind attention and their needs met for food, warmth, and comfort.  Many critters understand and seek affection from us when the understand we are worthy of their innocent trust.

People can make sense of their pain mostly.  We know why.  Animals wordlessly suffer.  The differences between us?
1)  They do not deserve this evil world
2)  Humans are obligated to be kind and to care for all creatures/nature.
