I do not want to see what you have gained
when what manifests is what I have lost.
The words, the look, that gentle embrace,
so much is invisible until acquaintance is made.
So much is forgotten when acquaintance is gone.
But if I see you before me again,
the words, the look-all frozen in memory
Will what I imagine in my thoughts
manifest in reality to what I have lost?
