Things have been hard lately I could use a hug Or even just a smile to give my heart strings a tug I wish that we could see eye to eye I wish that I could feel your smile, against mine I feel your arms around my waist but only in a dream So hold me in the tailgate of my car We can stay out late and watch the stars If we get cold there’s a blanket underneath the passenger seat We can share as long as you don’t steal my heat Before the dream fades away
