When I wrote his birthday card, I kissed it with lipstick, I smothered it with a pinkish-red, In doing so I accidentally smudged it, I firmly planted 24 to mark all the years, I then sat back, looked at the card and realised I've fallen head over heels, One kiss stood out from all the rest, I stayed still for what seemed so long, I'll tell you why, because I imagined it was him, So I was still and closed my eyes, A breath, a sigh, I opened my eyes, The card is ready for him, I sealed the envelope with a heart, And wrapped up his favourite gin

24 kisses
