among the terrible things
whilst not breathing and taking breaks to cry in my car
which doesn’t even exist anymore
you stopped to look hard into my eyes
you stopped and stared right into my soul
i swear in that moment, you could read every thought in my mind
you could hear every song that swept through my ears
not sure what it is that captivates me about you, but maybe i won’t ever tell you
maybe you’re my favorite distraction
maybe you’re my favorite daydream
maybe you’ve caught wind of some ****** up heart strings and decided to leap into a bright eyed mess
but for now, something for you, because you’re making me smile a little bigger
maybe you’re a secret in my mind
maybe you’re the highlight of my month
maybe i’ll never tell you but for now
