A sour taste hangs in the still winter air For from the mouth of those up high .. We hear the meticulously crafted words! Pleasing to the demands of the loyal flock While others, wait for a desperate message of hope! To calm the hideous feelings of fear, gripping the souls of so many Each too scared to seek out the comfort of a warm tender embrace   For we might send them to a place of no return Our once moist eyes .. drying as we bear witness To what holds us all hostage every second of the day! A tiny unseen foe!
