I found a broken mirror In the high desert at dawn Day in front, night behind The hard glass relaxed Wrapped pieces around rocks and sand Cracked mirror waves in the desert at dawn I saw my new reflection New from what the mirror saw One eye the moon behind My teeth were mountains My tongue a lizard tail that was there and gone My nose a scorpion Bug lips With cactus hair When my moon eye was gone And the birds left my hair My nose ate my tongue My lips flew away I became sky Cloudless eyless sky That sees everything
