For it sometimes lies and
Tells you:
You shall not feel pain.
When things break apart
And nothing is ever the same.
Defy not the heart
For it shall grow
Wiser and strong
And can tell whether
Love is right or wrong.
Defy not the heart
For is speaks true
Longing with passion
Just to be with you,
But holds back because
It knows love is not true.
There is nothing that I’d
Rather do than spend what
Little time I have with you,
But I need to know
Is your love true?
Defy not the heart!
