Which is a former colony of France
Where slaves were brought from Benin
(To feed the greed of French monarchs)
I speak French, English, Swedish, and can understand creole
I feel in French, think in English, listen in creole and live in Swedish
I love Florence, I am forever bound to Paris and have international friends
Being a French citizen means that I am European
Am I then also Dutch, Danish or German?
Does it really matter?
Am I not just another man?

Indeed Gorba, all comes down to Nurture. I will always be a Paddy and even though I am not religious now, Catholicism is bred into us. Years ago I was in New Zealand, a plumber did a job in my house. He said, " I can always tell when I am in a Catholic household ". Yet there were no icons to support that, he still saw something. I wish I had asked him what it was. A lot about us is hereditary although I am now a vegetarian, since 40 years, yet this is a very meat oriented country still. Incidentally, Gorba, I lived in France for 20 years, I may actually go back. Initially I was in provence, Lacoste to be exact, but I may go back to Vannes in Brittany.

great write, great questions Gorba!...where are we from who are we? reminded me...i remember a young girl and boy who'se parents were two gay men, who had chosen surrogate mothers, with surrogate eggs (to make sure the mother's would not want the child), and then wanting their children to speak another language, had them raised with a Chinese nanny, sweet family, though, father's were sweating when the 8 year old girl really really wanted to know where she was from and who was her real mother....?
