Just a thought, a mere whisper, And all of a sudden the slight breeze begins to howl. Dark clouds sweep overhead, And eclipse the guiding light. The once calm waves begin to topple and clash, And drown out all rational thought. Tumbling over and over between the waves. Quick pulses beat against my skull Bead of sweat puddle between my clammy hands, Slight shaking of my legs, Hint at my inability to step forward. Fully engulfed in unceasing worry, I turn away; The tide ebbs back. ©irina_n_stone

Flow of Anxiety
