You're in the back of my head Tap-tap-tap-tapping Telling me to get out of bed And I can't figure it out Because as soon as I leave this bed You're gone You aren't underneath any cork Or in any story Or any witty retort Tap-tap-tap My feet on the street The thud of my heart Whatever ever wherever never Tap-tap-tap My head is splitting apart You're in the back of my mind Telling me, begging me to get out of bed But if I leave here, If I go away to ever after, You're no more than dead
