“Rapturous!” cries the streaking blur,
falling straight from the blue,
no wish, no dream can, it, deter.

Silent, slashing, swooping by;
plans are violently torn in two.
No surcease can you buy.

Cringing, careless, covert glances
show there’s naught for anyone to do
and provides no hope and fewer chances.

From distant shores I had dreamed
of a future I thought I knew,
but then the plunging present screamed,
“All Ahoo! All Ahoo!”
