No one sees The moon as it rises, Peeking its head, Above the horizon, Hidden behind, The sun's enterprises. Yet there it sits, Silent and waiting, Patient desire, Anticipating, As nighttime arrives, And the sun slowly fading, The moon shining bright, As the world succumbs, To conniving dreams, Until nighttime is done, Slipping once more Behind morning's sun.
