I'm locked up In a cage Of identical walls I'm trapped on the page My feet track ink Across the lines Rebellious, chained But fortunately, still mine Mazes form behind me My mind's inner workings Wondering about privilege, The freedom, lurking My legs beg to stop But they only go faster Tripping over obstacles Asking for disaster I hurdle over trip lines Makes tears in the thin paper But never can I break through My weapons dissolve like vapor I collapse in the heat Of the unforgiving sun Suddenly the sheet's ablaze With nowhere left to run I curl up in a ball And let the flames consume me I woke in my room Crying out in agony
